Gear boxes

Accent Cooling Towers manufactures the Gear boxes single and double reduction which depend upon the Motor Capacity in Kw (HP) CTI Standard: STD III (86)

Single Reduction:

  • Reduction ratios: 2:1 to 7.7:1
  • Power ranges from 7 HP (5.2 kW) to 75 HP
  • Accent Model Gearbox Options: Available in 10T, 20T, 22.2T, and 27T.

Double Reduction:

  • Reduction ratios: 8.80:1 to over 14.84:1
  • Power rating starts at 60 HP (45 kW) to over 500 HP (375 kW).
  • Accent Model Gearbox Options: Available in 32.2T, 33T, 36T

At Accent we make all types of gearboxes.

Cooling towers play an important role in industries like chemical and power generation which requires considerable heat-rejection capacity. Gearboxes are essential components in cooling tower systems. Without gearbox technology, cooling tower motors would be too big to manage the fan’s torque directly. Instead, the gearbox’s speed decrease functions as a torque multiplier, allowing the motor to be kept small and the mechanical system to be more cost effective.

Why Gearboxes Are Essential for Cooling Tower Efficiency?

  • Speed Reduction and Vibration Control
    1. As the diameter of the fan grows, fan sizes increase, requiring a corresponding reduction in fan speed. Our Gearbox is made to maintain acceptable sound and vibration levels while also ensuring the fan’s structural integrity.
  • Optimal Motor and Gearbox Sizing
    1. In terms of the motor and fan, incorrect gearbox sizing can cause excessive vibration, loud operation, and tower structural damage. Our gearboxes are designed to prevent issues like vibration and damage.
  • Customized Performance and Efficiency
    1. For big cooling tower applications, the fan speed usually runs from 100 to 200 rpm, while the motor speed is usually 1800 rpm. To achieve the desired fan speed, the gearbox must reduce motor speed by 9 to 18 times.
